Point Mugu State Park – Ray Miller Trail

Trail Stats: 2.8 miles, 1200 ft. elevation This is one of the most spectacular trails with an ocean view the entire time. The trail is on the edge of a hill. After a rain sections of the trail may wash out. The trail is narrow with smooth footing most of the time and a couple rocky sections with a moderate grade. This is a popular trail with hikers. Rancho Sierra Vista / Satwiwa / Point Mugu – Overlook Trail Loop

Trail Stats: 10 miles, 1000 ft. elevation Horses are not allowed at the Point Mugu entrance, but they are allowed at the La Jolla Canyon Trail entrance. Horses can take the Ray Miller Trail to Overlook Trail.  The footing is mainly firm and smooth with a rocky downhill and a moderate grade. Malibu-Zuma Trancas Canyon/Big Zuma Loop

Trail Stats: 10.7 miles, 2600 elevation gain Bikes are allowed on fireroads only in Zuma / Trancas Canyon. This loop is very scenic and very strenuous. The footing is hard packed with rocks and rutts in places. The grade is moderate with a long steep climb. Bring water with you. Malibu – Zuma / Trancas Canyon – Zuma Loop

Trail Stats: 4.2 miles, 1000 ft. elevation This is a beautiful hiking and equestrian trail with canyon and ocean views. The grade is moderate and the footing is firm in most places. There is some shade and usually an ocean breeze. Bikes are not allowed on single track trails in Zuma/Trancas Canyon in lower Zuma Canyon. Zuma/Trancas Canyon – Backbone Trail to Kanan Road

Trail Stats: 11.7 miles, 2700 ft elevation gain Backbone trail is a popular hiking and mountain biking trail. After passing Backbone Trail, the area becomes very remote. Connect onto Zuma Ridge Trail for a long climb with beautiful ocean views. This route is great for anyone who loves climbing a non-technical trail in solitude. Malibu – Charmlee Wilderness Park

Trail Stats: 3.1 miles, 550 ft elevation This route is scenic the entire time. The area has many short trails all connecting to eachother. This is a counterclockwise loop, there are a few short, steep hills.
