Simi Valley-Johnson Motorway to Chumash Trail

Trail Stats: 6.4 miles one way, 1450 ft. elevation gain There are approximately 4 miles of street riding to connect the trails. The trail begins through a private community. Public access trail use is granted for pedestrians and cyclists, restricting access for equestrians. (Equestrians can do an out-and-back reverse ride take the Chumash Trail to Johnson Motorway beginning at Flannagan Dr.) These are some of my favorite Simi trails. The footing is mainly rocky with sandstone rocks, some dirt, and sections of sand. The trails are exposed to the sun with little shade. Chumash trail is a single track with some steep technical sections climbing up sandstone rocks with exposed edges on one side. Johnson Mtwy is a more gradual climb and not as technical as Chumash...

Simi Valley-Johnson Motorway to Rocky Peak Fire Road Loop

Trail Stats: 8.3 miles, 1850 ft elevation gain The footing on Rocky Peak and Johnson Motorway is sandstone rocks with sandy sections. The hills are moderate with a couple of steep technical sections. Horses are allowed on the trails, although there is public access granted through the private community accessing Johnson Mtwy limited to trail use for pedestrians and cyclists, restricting access for equestrians.
