Upper Las Virgenes Open Space – Laskey Mesa Loop

Trail Stats: 8 miles, 850 ft elevation gain The trails in Upper Las Virgenes Open Space are non-technical, wide open fire roads with full sun exposure spotted with oak trees. The grade is moderate with firm, smooth footing. Laskey Mesa Loop is good for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and families. Topanga – Caballero Canyon Trail / Sullivan Canyon Loop

Trail Stats: 14 miles, 2177 ft elevation gain The grade is moderate, and the footing varies from soft and firm to rocky in places. The climb up Caballero Canyon Trail is gradual leading to a steeper section with deep ruts from the rain.¬†There is some shade on the pleasant Sullivan Canyon Trail with a moderate grade. Topanga-Mulholland Drive to San Vicente Mountain Park

Trail Stats: 3.6 miles one way, 7.2 miles round trip; 800 ft total elevation NOTE: The MRCA has installed hidden cameras at the stop sign near the top of Reseda Blvd at the Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park. The fine for running the stop sign is $100. This trail is good for families, novice mountain bikers, horseback riders, and hikers. The area gets hot in the summer time with no shade until you reach San Vicente Mountain Park. The trail follows along Mulholland Drive on a gravel/dirt road leading to San Vicente Mountain Park. Topanga State Park-Temescal Ridge Fire Road/East Topanga Fire Road

Trail Stats: 16 miles, 2600 ft elevation gain There are four miles of street riding to connect the trails to do the entire loop. There is limited street parking on steep, narrow streets in Pacific Palisades.¬† Horse trailer parking is recommended at the main entrance of the park. For equestrians: From the main parking lot take East Topanga Fire Rd south (right turn) toward the Parker Mesa Overlook for a 3 mile one way trip. Hikers and mountain bikers may begin at Trailer Canyon trailhead on Michael Lane. To avoid street travel, an out and back is recommended with 11.3 miles one way. The fire road skirts along the edge of the park beginning in Pacific Palisades and ending in Pacific Palisades. You will pass near the main entrance.   Buy the Trail Book Share...
